QR codes are scannable square barcodes that most smartphones can read with their built in camera. Once scanned, they direct the smartphone to take an action (i.e. send a text message to a specific number, navigate to a mobile website, send a tweet, etc.) Such a simple tool really has a lot of potential and appeal with the smartphone user population, and also with the businesses that implement them within their marketing strategies. After all, a customer is much more likely to take a picture of a square barcode (it’s kinda fun) to, lets say, find you on facebook, rather than pulling up their mobile browser and manually typing in the URL on their tedious touch screen phones to get to the destination. All in all they are a trendy timesaver that anyone can make! Make your own here Kaywa!
